Latvia is determined by the Regulations of the Cabinet

Latvia will end on October 29 this year at 04:00 (at night from Saturday to Sunday), turning the hands of the clock back one hour. Since at the European Union level, a common vision on new conditions regarding the change of time twice a year has not been reached, the previously approved procedure is still valid - summer time in Latvia is valid from the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October. Accordingly, the transition to summer time will take place again on March 31, 2024. The rules mention that the transition to summer time in Latvia takes place in the following order: on the last Sunday of March at 03:00, the clocks are turned forward by one hour and accordingly on Canada WhatsApp Number Data the last Sunday of October at 04:00 - back one hour. On the other hand, within the framework of the European Union, the transition to summer time is determined by Directive 2000/84/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of January 19, 2001 on the rules regarding summer time. The directive determines the beginning and end of summer time uniformly for all the member states of the European Union.




As you know, in 2018, the issue of the need to review the current clock readjustment procedure was raised in Europe, however, currently active discussions on this issue in the European Commission have been interrupted due to other priorities. Daylight saving time was first introduced in Latvia in 1981. Starting in 1997, summer time is in effect from the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October.
